Tree Dance by Rosemary Legat

Features

ARTIST NOTES: Tree Dance by Rosemary Legat - Acrylic paint, collage & charcoal pencil on stretched canvas. I had taken a number of photos of the trees running down the middle of a busy 4 lane road in our Melbourne suburb. Not the prettiest of surroundings but each trunk is unique and reflected its gestural beauty which I used as inspiration to create Tree Dance. I hope you feel their movement too. Painting wrapped around her edges and finished off with a touch of matt spray varnish for protection. Initialled on the front. Please note that artwork images are for display purposes and may not be to scale therefore I always suggest double checking dimensions to make sure they suit your requirements.

ARTIST BIO

I am away until 1st June 2026 and will address all sales and messages on my return.

Rosemary’s artistic journey is a delightful adventure that showcases the power of creativity. From a young age, she found joy in artistic pursuits, but it wasn’t until her retirement, amid the quiet of countless covid lockdowns, that she truly reconnected with her passion for art.

With an eclectic style that celebrates whimsy, Rosemary’s paintings are a vibrant reflection of her playful spirit. Rather than sticking to a rigid plan, she lets her creativity flow, allowing each piece to reveal itself organically. As she layers colors and textures, her work takes on a life of its own, resulting in captivating pieces that invite viewers into her imaginative world.
Originally working solely with acrylics on canvas, Rosemary has since embraced an exciting variety of materials. Now, her mixed media artworks bring together paint, ink, soft pastels, oil sticks, and collage, transforming her creations into multidimensional expressions of her vision.
At the heart of Rosemary’s art is a simple yet powerful motivation: it makes her happy! The joy she feels while painting shines through in every piece she creates, and sharing that joy with others has ignited her passion even further. With numerous pieces sold and a growing audience, Rosemary is driven to continue creating and sharing her artwork, ensuring that her vibrant imagination remains a central part of her life for years to come.
