From a simple thought bubble to a bold new signature event, the Lions Club of Park Orchards has transformed an idea into an exciting community project.
After many successful years hosting its much-loved Car Rally as the club’s major fundraiser, members agreed it was time to give the rally a well-earned rest and explore something fresh. What followed was a lively exchange of ideas — until one suggestion captured everyone’s imagination: an Art Show.
Keen to do it properly, club members visited established art shows, met with organisers, and gathered valuable insights. The concept quickly gathered momentum. With the generous seed funding provided by Warrandyte Community Bank, the vision began to take shape and move from possibility to reality.
The search for the perfect venue led to the stunning Barrel Room at The Farm, a beautiful winery nestled on the edge of the Yarra Valley. Set on 100 acres in South Warrandyte, The Farm blends homestead charm with breathtaking surroundings. Created by people passionate about wine, food and fun, it offers an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming and unmistakably Yarra Valley.
The venue aligned perfectly with the club’s ambition to create an Art Show with a difference — an event where patrons could make a day of it. Visitors will be able to enjoy outstanding local art, fine food, and superb wine in one memorable experience that captures the soul of the region.
To ensure the highest standards, the club engaged Gallery 247 to assist with planning and delivery. At the same time, members worked tirelessly to secure sponsors, whose support has been instrumental in bringing the event to life. The club extends heartfelt thanks to Warrandyte Community Bank for its foundational support, to The Farm for providing such an exceptional venue, and to Mercedes-Benz Ringwood as the event’s Diamond Sponsor.
Excitement is building as the Lions Club looks forward to welcoming the community to the inaugural Yarra Valley Art Show — a vibrant new chapter built on creativity, collaboration and community spirit.
